Europe’s low-fares airline easyJet and Windows Vista have launched easyJet desktop gadget for customers to personalise a flight information and booking service using the Microsoft Vista technology. (1/31/2007)The two companies teamed up for the development of the new Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office System to create a range of desktop gadgets and web services to ensure travel is seamless from desktop to touch down. The gadget provides simple one click purchase of easyJet flights, real-time updates, rescheduling, directions to airports and calendar management. It also provides access destination information such as: hotels, car hire, conference facilities and restaurant. Andy Harrison, easyJet chief executive said easyJet is committed to support and investment in the continued development of electronic commerce and the use of technological advancements throughout its business. Cynthia Crossley, director UK Windows Client Business Group, said: “easyJet was one of the first partners to develop a specific application based on Windows Vista. For anyone who is passionate about travel, whether for weekend breaks or longer holidays, the range of information available real-time to the desktop through their application is impressive.
