Atlas Travel International has signed an agreement with G2 SwitchWorks Corp. to use G2Agent throughout their US agency locations. (7/20/2007)G2Agent will provide Atlas Travel “with a highly efficient desktop tool that will lower costs, improve the ease and ability to find the best solutions for both corporate and leisure clients, and enable access to content across a variety of distribution channels, including G2’s Private Network.” Rock Blanco, Chief Technical Officer, Atlas Travel International said: “Through the deployment of the G2Agent, we envision an open platform that will give our professional travel consultants a point-of-sale tool that is inclusive of content regardless of its source.” In another deal, Garber Travel will also employ G2Agent throughout their network of US travel agency locations for shopping, booking and servicing capabilities for their corporate and leisure customers. G2 SwitchWorks launched G2 Agent in November 2005 to offer an alternative to the traditional travel distribution business model. The company has since matured the product to give travel agencies more control by providing multi-source shopping, booking and servicing capabilities across multiple channels including G2’s Private Network. Along with automated refunds and exchanges and one-click low fare search, G2Agent now offers switching rules to manage booking channels, Universal Record with dynamic updates, customized agency data reporting and the integration of many traditional mid-office functions into the desktop.
